Everything a mystery story should be.
A Bone to Pick did keep my interest as I wanted to know who the skull belonged too and I wanted to know what that was all about.
Three Bedrooms, One Corpse was just okay. I felt it lacked something. I think that something was suspects. I mean in a good mystery novel you want the author to give you a couple suspects and then have the real murderer be a huge surprize. In Three Bedrooms it was someone that didn't even seem part of the story. Which I felt was a little unfair since part of reading a mystery is trying to guess "who dunit!"
It makes me wonder if I should even bother with the rest of the series.
These are all short quick reads I think I read all 3 in less then 3 days and I have a toddler!! But for the most part entaining.
I have been interested in Charlaine Harris since her Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood novels have become such a huge hit. I just haven't wanted to start that series as there is already like 8 or 9 books and I don't have the time to dedicate to a series that long and it looks like there could be more! It also doesn't sound too different from Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake novels which I read the first 8 and have failed to keep up with the series as there are now like plus 12 or something.
Over all these are fun mystery stories and I would recommend them for summer vacation reads!United Cakedomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01541032460065809836noreply@blogger.com
