Shades of Grey by E L James {book review}

Okay so if you haven't heard of this book you are living under a rock! Most likely not only have you heard of it, but you've read it as well! What did you think?


I didn't like it. It's Twilight with out the supernatural and I didn't like Twilight. I tried re-reading Twilight last summer, in case I was missing something, but it was actually worse then I had remembered. Probably because when I read it the first time I hadn't read the 4th book Breaking Dawn. Which is listed in my top 5 worse books ever!!


I could rant about Twilight forever so I will stop myself. I don't know why I thought I'd like Fifty Shades of Grey, knowing that it was originally fanfiction for Twilight. Why did I bother?!? Well, I like to read what's "popular" just to see what the hype is about. I haven't been able to bring myself to buy book 2 & 3 to see if it gets any better.


I don't find anything offensive about it: sex is sex. It just wasn't written very well and the dialog was abysmal. Also Anastasia just finished 4 years of college and she didn't have a computer or an email address..... if it wasn't for the technology dating it as current I would have thought it was set in the 80's!


I'd like to hear others thoughts! Have an opinion leave a comment!!

Baby Names Inspired by Twilight

Write exactly that in google and you'll get lots of articles popping up telling you that the Twilight series has inspired people to name their babies Isabella, Jacob, Edward, Cullen, Esme and so on. Whenever I read these things I think 'yeah yeah sure', but today at Rhyme Time in our local library I met 2 Edwards, 1 Isabella, and 1 Jasper. All of them were under a year old.
People said JK Rowlings Harry Potter didn't inspire names as much as Twilight has, but really is that a shocker? I mean Harry? Ron? Hermione? Although you could go with Arthur, Molly, Bill, Charlie, Fred and George, but to me those are all pretty traditional names to start with.
Would you name your kid(s) after your favorite character either in a book, movie, or TV Show? I can't really talk as one of my daughters names is a Disney princess and the other happens to come from a popular TV show in the early 2000's!

Although I think we agreed that it could have been alright except for the 4th book, Breaking Dawn. Anyhow the point of this post is to find out what our followers thought of this book to movie (pages to screen) and any other opinion you have on the Twilight Saga as movies!

The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer - A Series Review

Twilight is a series of four vampire based romance/fantasy novels: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. It follows the adventures of Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenager who moves to Forks, Washington and finds her life turned upside-down when she falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen.
The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the epilogue of Eclipse and a portion of Breaking Dawn being told from the viewpoint of character Jacob Black. Midnight Sun, if published, will be a retelling of the first book, Twilight, from Edward Cullen's point of view.
